Learning Goal: I will work with my peers to deconstruct a media text so that we all improve our skills in media analysis.
1. The Lunch Date - in a small group you are going to use the success criteria and analyse the film - if you have already completed this task, you can use the time to compare your ideas with the rest of the class - using the white boards, you are going to write down observations and conclusions from your analysis - be prepared to explain your thinking 2. Book Blog #2 - you should now have finished your book - I would like you to choose a character from your book and reflect on their behaviour throughout the book or at various important moments (your choice) - Some ideas to consider for your response: did he or she make good decisions? why or why not? if this character was a real person, would you be friends with him or her? why or why not? how did this person's past experiences influence his or her actions? what was his or her motivation? why did you choose this character out of all the characters in your book? what do you find interesting or intriguing about this character? did the character grow and learn throughout the book? if so, how? who would you say this character is most like and why? (can be another character in another text or someone in real life)

Learning Goal: I will use my media analysis skills to find and analyze an article so that I can get feedback on my abilities.
1. Fun Friday 2. Catch up work time -> read or finish your blog 3. Watch The Lunch Date if you haven't yet. 4. Find an interesting article to analyze Learning Goal: I will use my time effectively so that I can finish my blog post and reflect on the feedback of my peers. 1. Blog Writing Time 2. Editing with Huron - starting around 10:25 3. Reading 4. If you finish all these, you can watch this short film and use the media analysis success criteria to analyze the film. Learning Goal: I will use the writing process to write an effective blog post so that I can receive feedback from my peers.
1. Writing Time -> use this time to get a solid portion of your blog written -> remember it is due Friday -> feel free to share it with a peer in the class for their feedback if you wish -> you may also ask Mr Bieronski or Ms Weir for feedback 2. Editing Time -> with your partner at Huron, spend the time reading their work and offering feedback as well as reflecting on the feedback they are providing to you -> incorporate their feedback or not (remember to use the commenting feature so that you can explain your decision in your post writing reflection) Learning Goal: I will get to know my editor so that I can improve the quality of my summative blog post.
1. Silent Reading 2. Writing / Peer editing time -> share your gdoc with your editor and get to know their topic and writing style -> if you're at the point to ask for feedback, feel free to engage in the feedback loop -> use the commenting feature so that Ms Weir and Mr Bieronski can see the feedback you are leaving and if you chose to incorporate it or not -> FYI - you are going to be required to create a formal reflection post writing so please spend some time considering the suggestions of your peer(s) |
